Puppets have a way of breaking complicated issues down into their simplest form for us all. So, what better way to make using pronouns easy for people than by having puppets communicate through an educational children’s song?
In celebration on pride month and all those proud to be in and/or stand with the LGBTQIA+ community, RPA created a puppet-filled musical! The Pride Production was filled with supportive puppets singing songs and sharing nifty tips on how become more accepting. Written, recorded, directed and puppeteered by RPA associates, this social-focused musical is aimed at helping people be better allies. The RPA Pride Puppets join forces (and harmony) to sing about the importance of using pronouns, promoting allyship, and celebrating overall acceptance of everyone.
So, however you identify, sit back and sing along to a show the soon-to-be all-accepting world won’t soon-to-forget.
Lyrics
’Cause I am he
And I am her
And I am they
Whatever you might say
’Cause love is love
If you’re straight or gay
Or trans or queer
There’s no need to fear
So, let’s be free
Free to love
Free to love
Free to love
Free to love
Free to love each other
If the world could be
Just a bit more accepting
Then everyone could live in unity
We just want to be
Loved for who we are
So, he and she and they can be loved freely
‘Cause I love you
And you love me
But she loves her
And he loves he
They love you
Even if you’re not gay
And that’s ok
As long as you love they
